Those of you who have been to the Lodge in the past may remember our children’s friend Billy, whom my husband and I ‘adopted’ during the 3 years that he lived with us here. (Billy’s parents were very nice to share him with us in this way, though we still consider him our ‘son’ even now that he’s left our nest). Billy was our in-house “tech guy” who fixed everything related to computers, cell phones and all our digital stuff! He was also the helpful front desk person who was always cheery on the phone … not to mention that he is a fantastic photographer and did some of the wonderful photos on our website. We of course miss him in these capacities, but especially just because he is such a nice guy and had become part of our family … which is shrinking these days!!
Billy is back ‘home’ to visit us this Fourth of July weekend and we get to be with him until tomorrow. It’s just like ‘old times’! Yesterday he, Noah and Dana went to Diana’s Baths, a wonderful place to visit in this hot weather we’ve been having. Right now they’re out playing Miniature Golf. He will be leaving us tomorrow morning, when he has to get back home to his new job, which often requires overtime each week. He also started his own computer repair business, and you can imagine how busy THAT keeps him! So far he has had brochures printed and works from home, but word of mouth has made business so brisk that he may soon be looking for a little storefront to hang out his shingle! (What he really needs is for me to build him a Tumbleweed Tiny House! (I’ve given him the tour of ours, you can be sure!!).
