Cranmore Mountain Great Penguin Race

Purchase a rubber penguin for $5 and race it down the slope, where all proceeds benefit the Mount Washington Valley Children's Museum. Penguins can be purchased ahead of time at the MWV Children's Museum, the Settler's Green Tubing Event, at the MWV Childrens Museum findraiser at Flatbread Pizza in North Conway December 16th, at Cranmore Mountain, and at event registration the day of the event.
Modifications can be made but they must weigh less than 1 pound and less than 5 inches long, and cannot include explosives, ice, glass or balls. Registration is 9-10:30am in Schneider Square and the event begins at 11:30am. Winners will be determined from each heat and compete against each other for the finals.

In conjunction with the Appalachian Mountain Club, Great Glen Trails offers you the chance to really get to know Pinkham Notch. When you ski with a naturalist, you will learn about the flora and fauna that make our corner of the world so special. You’ll scout for tracks in the snow. You’ll learn about the different trees in the Glen. You’ll listen for distinct bird calls. You’ll truly begin understand how the ecosystem works in Pinkham Notch. Free with a trail pass.
